Donating Space/Assessment Criteria

Donating your space can be a great benefit for the Environmentally Ill and yourself in this economy.  You can get tax breaks for either the rental of the space or the space itself..  You have to check with your accountant as to how that would best work for you. But if you are trying to sell the property and can’t in the current economy, renting the space can allow you to hold off selling it until market values return.  You would also have someone in there to help protect the space.

So we would have to do an assessment of the space for a viable living/work space for the environmentally ill person.  If it can not be used by them, the space will be provided either to another homeless person or sold off or rented to obtain funds to be used to acquire a viable space for an environmentally ill person.

Some of the assessment criteria

Mutliple Chemical Sensitivity

1) No Molds

2) No Chemicals- if near forest/farm what is the spraying policy /chemicals?

3) No Paneling / new carpets

4) No New Renovations/ construction which isn’t approved by our MCS organization

5) Heating system not causing problems

6) Check out what is west of the property to see prevailing winds don’t bring in chemicals from construction plants, gas stations, forests, farms, etc

7) Not close to the road where traffic brings in fumes

Check to see close to support places, doctors, hospitals, shopping

For Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity add:

1) 2 miles from a train system

2) Check cell phone towers

3) Check radio towers

4) Check how much wifi traffic

5) Not close to neighbor’s lights/ electrical equipment

6) Check power issues for home and neighbor hood with Guassmeter

7) Check Geomagnetic stresses – black water streams and quarries/mines

Check proximity to power lines / power boxes / power plants

9) How many TV/ Radio stations are there?
